COUNCIL OF ENERGY, ENVIRONMENT AND WATER (CEEW)

The Council on Energy, Environment and Water (CEEW) is one of Asia’s leading not-for-profit policy research institutions. The Council uses data, integrated analysis and strategic outreach to explain – and change – the use, reuse and misuse of resources. It prides itself on the independence of its high-quality research, develops partnerships with public and private institutions and engages with wider public. In 2021, CEEW once again featured extensively across ten categories in the 2020 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report. The Council has also been consistently ranked among the world’s top climate change think tanks.

Additionally, the council has a dedicated Centre for Energy Finance that aims to deepen markets, increase transparency, and attract capital in clean energy sectors in emerging economies.
CEEW carried out a two-part study on India’s EV transition wherein it analysed the impacts of a 30% EV sales in 2030 on the auto industry, employment, energy security and local and CO2 emissions.
In ten years of operations, The Council has engaged in 278 research projects, published 212 peer-reviewed books, policy reports and papers, created 100+ new databases or improved access to data, advised governments around the world nearly 700 times, promoted bilateral and multilateral initiatives on 80+ occasions, and organised 350+ seminars and conferences.
